This is a very simple piece, the result of the first step toward a very un-simple piece called "Geometric Rhythm."

It consists entirely of the notes from an Am chord, rearranged into all the various possible permutations of note order, with a very rudimentary rhythm track added in. The result was then pitch-shifted into a couple different octaves and everything was layered together.

I liked it and saved it as it was at this point before doing the rest of the junk necessary to create "Geometric Rhythm".

I saved the next step, too, and released it separately, sort of as an afterthought, on "Leader of the Heathens".

"Geometric Rhythm" was put out as part of "Dolphins in the Wind" as well.

At this point, I can't explain why I left the middle step off this album, but luckily, if you want to, you can get the missing middle step and play the three tracks in order. I think it's a fun thing to do once in a while. Perhaps you will, too.

Perhaps not.
